So, the truth came out nice and clear yesterday.
*Drum roll*
I'm officially friends with an alcoholic and a perverted (but good-looking) cowboy.
The first can't wait to get me drunk and the second is placing bets on how soon I'll cuss someone out at work.
It sounded like a double date is in the works??
Let the games begin!!

So many compliments, too many wackos
Thursday was a strange day this week...Weds. was too.
But back to Thursday...
First thing, Dean White walks in and on his way upstairs after getting his daily supply of joe he backtracks and comes back to my desk to talk.
He said he's been in the business for many years, and I've impressed him at how I've not become frustrated or bitter on the job yet still keep a smile and stay pretty cheery.
I took it in stride, thanked him, and he went on his way.
A couple hours later, a gentleman comes in to fill out an application.
I treated him like I do everyone else, smiling a lot and being polite in general.
On his way out, he shook my hand and thanked me for my professionalism and my sweet attitude.
When he made it to the door to leave, he turned around and said I had the presence of an angel, and walked out the door.
This was after finding out on Wed that my rep around the company is being the sweet little angel at the front who everyone can count on.
And this whole time I've been doing my best to not blow up at a couple in the AP department!!
I must have an awesome poker face around there!!

Wrong Profession???
One day this week, I took a call that started off pretty normal.
A guy was wanting to know if we did small residential jobs, I told him we did not, but that I could refer him to a few individuals and companies who did.
So, I give him about three references and was about to end the conversation when he completely floored me.
He told me I was in the wrong profession and that I had the sexiest voice, and that I had made his day.
Then he said goodbye and hung up.
That was the second call I've recieved like that this year...I'm wondering if I should be worrying LOL

A Daughter's Prayer
Friday night, at Jen's for a girls night for her birthday, we had prayer for Jen after she said she had a "splitting headache".
We gather around her to pray, and Belle lays her hand on Jen's head and prays: "God, please take the splinters out of my mommy's head."
Needless to say, we didn't get much more in in our praying...
You have to love a child's prayer!!

Arranged Marriage???
I met a guy a few months back at my church, and we started texting and talking occasionally...nothing serious on my end.
This past week, he started getting really agressive about finding out where I lived, wanted to meet up with me in Marietta...constantly texting and pretty much freaking me out.
Well, yesterday while with Zully, she answered my phone when he called and told him I was out with my boyfriend.
He hung up and sent a mean text message to my phone.
She called him back and asked him to explain himself.
Turns out: he wanted to use me to get out of an arranged marriage his family had set up for him.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WHAT????????????????????
I know, insane, right??
Well, he then rambles on for at least half an hour to Zully how he fell in love with me the first time he saw me worshiping in the praise team at church, how I was such a lovely soul, yada yada..without knowing I was there listening in..
She said afterward that he sounded like he was going to cry and she was trying not to laugh at him the whole time.
Agreed, that's mean...but c'mon...why me????????
This is pathetic...I only seem to attract psyco-paths :-0

Living the Dream
I was wondering today...what do you have once you have it all?
I hear people say things like "so-and-so has it all" or "he/she's living the dream".
What dream is that? And what is everything?
It seems to me that it's the ones who have "everything" are the ones who need the most from others...time, money, etc.
Strange, eh?

Do we really know everything?
I remember one of the first things that shocked me when I started back to public school in GA: racism.
Until that point, it was a foreign concept for anyone to be hated based solely on the color of their skin.
I grew up with mixed cousins, and their fully black cousins were considered no differently as part of my family as a whole.
Once we moved to Carrollton, it became very clear that the blacks and whites in my area weren't all fond of each other.
By this point, we were starting to study about the civil war and slavery and all that jazz you learn in middle school, and I saw how there was still a strong hate not only from whites towards blacks but from blacks toward whites.
And as I began to befriend Hispanics and learn their language and culture, I learned that racism isn't only between blacks and whites.
There are people I could name right now whom I know look at me differently once they found out I embrace the Hispanic community and culture...white and Hispanic alike.
And some of these same people call themselves Christian and preach about God's love.
They say they want the whole world to be saved and come to know Christ...but oh no, they could never go and witness to someone with such a different cultural background.
And then they do not fully support those who do step up to do just that.
If I could have the answer to one question, it would be why are people so afraid of those who do not look, act, or speak like them?
Afterall, if you're a "Christian" and believe the Bible to be God's divinely inspired Word, does it not say that we are all created in His image and that He sent His only begotten Son so that NONE should perish?
The promise of salvation was given to Judea, Samaria, and all that the Lord God shall call...so what makes people think they're the only ones God has called?
My whole problem with this is the fact that it's the "Christians" who stir up most of the problems we see and here.
Since when did being a Christian make us know everything?

The "guys"
Thursday Gina asked Justin who all were going out to Kuroshio's, and he replied with "just the guys".
After lunch, Gina asked me where did I go to eat, and I said out for sushi.
She laughed and said I was one of the "guys" now and asked how many times did Steve and Justin make me blush or pick on me.
She was shocked to hear Steve agree with me on them not antagonizing me at all!
The two men who seem to go out of their way to make me blush any chance they get can actually entertain really well...and hey, I got a free lunch out of the deal ;-)
Maybe a peace offering for the past year and a half?
Nah, I doubt it!!!

It's a small world, after all...
Today at work, a rep from Cobb EMC came in to finish signing the new large project locate agreements.
While waiting for someone to come from upstairs to help him, we shared a very akward silence of me working and him standing up at the counter.
After what seemed like forever, he asked me where did I go to church.
I told him Carrollton United Pentecostal Church. He asked if I lived out there, I could see him caculating that long drive, be it for work or church.
I said no, I lived locally, and he mentioned how there used to be a Pentecostal church founded by Bro. Wright back in the day.
My jaw dropped. I told him my dad pastored that church for 5 1/2 years. He said it's gone now isn't it, I said yes.
This was getting freaky!!
He said he used to go up until Bro. Larry Hines took the church...
Then he asked if the UPCI was still strict.
I was like, well I guess that depends on what you say is strict!
All this came about after he saw me in my long skirt...I had been sitting down except for getting up and doing something right before he asked me about my church.
This is the second time this year I've had ties from church find me at Baldwin!

What's in a name?
This is a snippet of a conversation from one of the Spanish services I went to this weekend:
Me: "Hola!" [Hello!]
Him: "Hola! Como estas?" [Hello! How are you?]
Me: "Bien, y tu?" [Good, you?]
Him: "Bien!" [Good!]
Me: "Como te llamas?" [What is your name?]
Him: "Me llamo?" [My name?]
Me: "Si!" [Yes!]
Him: "Elliot (well, the Spanish equivelent). tu?" [Elliot, yours?]
Me: "Jenny." [Jenny.]
Him: "Ah, muy bonita!" [Ah, very pretty!]
Me: "Gracias!" [Thank you!]
------------------------
The final question for a million dollars (not seriously): Why is my name so beautiful to hispanics?

Forgive my espanol if it's lacking, I'm still learning the language!!
I've decided to start this blog after my friend Chris presented the challenge of a daily blog, or watnot.
He has a wonderful talent for writing, while I love to write for fun.
So, I'm excited to see what will become of this!!
